Building Walls to Restore Lives
A Time to BuildWe have recently secured 7.4 acres of land on Greenbank Rd. T
his strategic property is in the heart of Barrhaven, has excellent visibility, and is surrounded by homes. It will be an amazing location to build Sequoia Community Church as it affords us the opportunity to serve our community in tangible ways. Life Giving Ministry
We desire to build a building that will enable us as a church to engage and interact with the community at large. We envision a building that includes the Sequoia Cafe and the Welcome Centre in an attractive atrium. We envision a building where we can hold multiple worship services, including a Next Gen. Saturday service, as well as the potential for an ethnic congregation. We envision a building that affords a designated Kid’s Ministry area and a trendy Youth Room. We envision a building that gives us the flexibility to use the gym for events other than worship services. We envision a building surrounded by beautiful green space, where we have a concert band shell, and some sport fields, in which to host parties, concerts,
celebrations, and sporting events. We envision a building that contains a garage where we can park our Fun Cruiser and our Feet to Faith Trailer and use this space as a base of operation for our outreach ministries. We envision a building that houses a Care Centre, including a food and clothing cupboard to help the less fortunate in our community. We envision a building that contains multiple offices and training rooms that will accelerate the missional activity of Sequoia as we help people Connect to God, Grow with Others, and Serve the World. Multipurpose Design
We will construct a multipurpose building in phases that is expandable and extensive (15,000-20,000 square feet). The building will be attractive, contemporary, spacious, and welcoming. We will have capacity for 500-700 people with 1/3 of these being children and youth.

Trusting for God's Provision
In order to own the land outright and build Phase 1 of Sequoia Community Church we will need $4 Million. We already have $730,000 raised through the Possess the Land Campaign (2006). We are trusting God
to help us raise $1 Million as a Sequoia family through the Building Walls to Restore Lives Campaign (BWRL). We will also seek outside donations from Cornerstone Investors in the amount of $1.3 Million. We will be able to carry a $1 Million mortgage on the building as we currently pay $70K per year in facility costs for our office and use of Ottawa Christian School.
