New Visitors
What to Expect at Sequoia? At the front door, you'll be met by friendly people who will greet you. Inside the door you will see our Welcome Centre where you can get any of your questions answered by our helpful volunteers. Feel free to grab a cup of coffee while you are in the atrium. As you come to the gym, you'll be given a copy of the "Sequoia Notes" and a Connection Card that you can use to request more information, sign up for a class, or leave a prayer request. The Sequoia Notes contain an outline of the message so you can follow along and take notes.
What to do with the kids?
Children really enjoy our Kids' program. We have programs from birth to 11 years old. At the Welcome Centre you can get a map showing you the location of our Kids' classes. We have developed a great security system so you will need to sign your children in and out of their appropriate class. We want you to know that your children will be well cared for and very safe. Children are also welcome to attend our adult worship service but they will have more fun at Kids' Church. Twice a month we also offer a designated youth service for 12-18 yrs, and the rest of the time the youth are with the adults for the worship service or helping the younger children in Kids' Church.
What is the Dress Code?
Quite simply - we don't have one. We range from "office casual" to jeans and running shoes. You are welcome to come in whatever is most comfortable to you. But please no stiletto's - our gym floor is not stiletto friendly!
What do we do?
Our services begin and end with upbeat music. We have a team of gifted speakers who take turns preparing the weekly messages. Our messages are real, interesting and relate to daily life and they are always based on The Bible. We often spice them up with drama, songs and movie clips. Near the end of the service we do take up an offering, where our members give back to God, but as our guest we simply ask you to fill in your Connection Card and drop it in the basket as it goes past. Our service typically wraps up between at 11:20 and 11:30 am. If you have children - don't forget to pick them up from their classrooms, and we hope you'll stay around and experience the warmth and friendliness of Sequoia. Church is not only about God and worship, but about community, and friendship. We hope you will come back soon!
